The Caipirinha, a Brazilian cocktail made with sugar cane liquor, is the perfect drink to enjoy on a warm summer evening. It’s sweet and tart and deliciously refreshing. One sip, and you’ll understand why this is the Brazilian national cocktail.

Caipirhina recipe

Serves 2

  • 2 limes, quartered
  • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 6 oz. cachaça (available at BevMo and other liquor specialty stores)

Muddle the limes (this doesn’t mean you confuse them – it means you mush them up) with the brown sugar in a small bowl. Then scrape that into a drink shaker and add the cachaça. Shake well. Pour mixture into two ice filled glasses. Cheers!
