It’s February! Happy month of love and chocolate. This month, I have pulled together some great options for everyone. Are you single? I got you. Are you a fun, laid-back, take-nothing-too-seriously couple? I got you. Are you taking the opportunity to watch the mushiest, most romantic movie possible? I got you, too!
So, grab your wine, your chocolate, and your remote. It’s time for Netflix & Chill.
Lila & Eve – Starring Viola Davis and Jennifer Lopez. These two ladies get shit done. I warn you, the premise is based on the two women losing their children. They, in turn, come together and avenge their children’s deaths.
Cruel Intentions – Starring Ryan Philippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Reese Witherspoon. You know I am always going to throw in an oldie but goodie for you. This twisted tale of step-siblings and their creepy, tortured relationship will blow your mind. Plus, you get to see all these stars back when they were teen heartthrobs.
Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World – Starring Steve Carell and Keira Knightley. This film didn’t get enough good press for my liking. It’s off-beat, kind of quirky, and just damn adorable.
Meet The Patels – Starring Chandar Abboy. I loved this documentary. Fed up with his love life, Chadar decides to let his parents try and fix him up the old-fashioned way, with his family. Cue hilarity and sweet funnies.
The Best Of Me – Starring James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan. Would it be Valentine’s Day without a Nicholas Sparks movie? I think not. You know what to expect here: forbidden love, lots of tears, kissing outside, and love songs that will be stuck in your head for days.
Serendipity – Starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale. Another older film, but, you guys, I just love this one. I can’t even count how many times I have watched this. (I could, but it would be super-embarrassing.) Love at first sight, destiny, and fate. This is an utterly romantic way to spend Valentine’s Day.
Now that you know what to watch, what are you going to munch on? Well, it’s Valentine’s Day, right? So, I went for something a bit fancier this month. I stumbled on these amazing brownies and thought, what a perfect twist on a Valentine’s Day favorite: chocolate-covered cherries!
This recipe is super-simple, sure to be delicious, and just look at this picture! LOOK AT IT! Okay, stop looking at it now, and get the ingredient list from Dessert Now Dinner Later.

And to top off that decadent dessert, treat yourself to a Chocolate Covered Cherry Shot.
- 1/2 oz. Grenadine
- 1/2 oz. Kahlua
- 1/2 Godiva White Chocolate liqueur
- Maraschino cherry for garnish
Slowly, over the back of a spoon, layer in first the Grenadine and then the Kahlua. Add your cherry. (Stop giggling.) Then, using the same technique, add in the Godiva White Chocolate liqueur. You can just pour in all the stuff, higgledy-piggledy, but it’s not nearly as pretty that way. Cheers!
