The second Monday of January of each year recognizes National Clean Off Your Desk Day. This day is an opportunity to begin your new year with a clean and organized work space.
Cubicle life can get pretty boring and plan, and with limited space, it can be hard to personalize it or keep it organized. Even if you are organizing a small home office space – these ideas are inexpensive or free – and easy to make your own!
If you don’t have space for a bulky dry erase board – but like to visualize your daily/weekly to-dos – grab an old frame and some pretty stationary and it can either be hung up or sit right on your desk.
I don’t know about you, but all of my cords not only look the same, but having so many becomes overwhelming. Especially when trying to figure out which cord leads to what. Washi tape is inexpensive, cute and can easily be used to label your cords.
Who doesn’t have mason jars laying around from past projects? These can be made into different sized storage jars for things like pens, scissors, paper clips and thumbtacks.
Poster board. Paint chips. Who would have thought that you could spend next to nothing and create a custom, reusable wall calendar!
Easy DIY drawer storage to help nip that clutter in the bud. All you need to make these are some empty cardboard boxes in various sizes (think cereal boxes, etc) and some fun craft paper.
Here’s another DIY calendar option. It is smaller and more scalable if you are working with a small space.
For those of us who don’t have any desire to DIY anything … here’s some desk organization that is already done for you.
A desk clip coffee holder. Who hasn’t ruined important paperwork (or a keyboard) by accidentally bumping and spilling their morning coffee?!?
A quick and easy way to get those pesky cords out of the way. Command strips are another alternative to screw in hooks.
This is a cute and compact storage option if drawer space is limited that will easily brighten up any workspace.
And for fun, free printables to keep you inspired and motivated while you are at work!
