Well, if ever I was excited to have a national day for a dessert (Side Note: I am always excited for any and all dessert and days that celebrate such), National S’mores Day may rank pretty high on my excitement level. I mean, seriously, who doesn’t adore this gooey national treasure!
History shows that the recipe for the s’more was first published in the early 1920s, and popular among both the Boy and Girl Scouts, as noted on Food and Wine. This delicious and classic treat remains popular over 90 years later and is an essential while camping, enjoying a bonfire with friends, or really anytime. Because there is never a bad time to eat a treat made of graham crackers, chocolate squares and marshmallows. Am I right?
We have rounded up some amazing recipes that go beyond the traditional s’more to celebrate this very sweet day! Enjoy!
