Let’s lighten the mood this month with comedies to make you belly-laugh and a drool-worthy kettle chip appetizer to put in your face.
Man Up
Can you go wrong with Simon Pegg? I’m going with no. He stars with Ophelia Loviland in this classic; boy meet the wrong girl, the wrong girl rolls with it, a romantic comedy–heavy on the comedy.
The Overnight
If you are missing Orange Is The New Black then catch up with Taylor Schilling in this movie about a playdate turned overnight that these two parents will never forget. Make sure the kids are in bed for this one!
Welcome To Me
Kristen Wiig out does herself in this offbeat comedy about a lottery winner who decides to go off her meds and buy a talk show. She gives the world the gift of herself, every beautiful, bizarre part of herself.
Election
If the everyday political chaos we have going on right now is too much for you, catch this Reese Witherspoon movie about a high school student who really wants to win student body president.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
If you haven’t caught this one yet, you are missing out! Elli Kemper is amazing. This show is a balm for your soul.
Need something to munch on while you giggle? Try these Blue Cheese Bacon Kettle Chips with carmelized onions and balsamic vinegar:
Ingredients:
- Carmelized onions
- Balsamic vinegar
- Applewood smoked bacon (or regular bacon, if you’re not picky)
- Blue cheese
- Kettle chips
For instructions on how to carmelize onions, click here. That’s really the only part that requires instruction. Preheat oven to 350. After that, fry up your bacon and crumble it. Spread the kettle chips in an even layer in a baking pan. Sprinkle with vinegar, onions, bacon, and blue cheese to taste. Crisp in oven for 3 to 4 minutes while salivating heavily.

The Stay At Home Cocktail
A delicious treat with Bailey’s, Godiva chocolate liqueur, and tart Chambord. Get the recipe here.
