We all have someone in our life (or we are that someone) who can’t get enough of the world of Harry Potter. Everything J.K. Rowling creates brings a little bit of magic and whimsy into our lives, and for those people who are card-carrying Harry Potter nerds, here are some holiday gift ideas for the witch or wizard in your life:

Illustrated Harry Potter books – $25 each

Have you seen the pictures for the recently released illustrated Harry Potter books? They’re incredibly beautiful, and any HP fan would love to unwrap these gorgeous gifts this holiday season. So far, only the first two books have been illustrated, but based on the pictures online – I can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out.

Remote Control Wand – $55

A toy wand is a great idea for any Harry Potter fan, but if you want to make the leap from imaginary fun to magical realness, you should buy your HP-obsessed loved one a remote control wand. This universal remote works based on your wand movements, and is a fun way to incorporate some magic into every day. A friend of mine who recently purchased one had this to say about it: “It can be difficult to program the wand, but once it is programmed, it serves as a very great and fun universal remote.  I am very pleased with it.  Sometimes I turn on my TV, even when I am not watching it, just to be able to play with it.”

Harry Potter adult coloring books – $10-15

Adults who love Harry Potter can probably all agree that whimsy and imagination don’t go away as we age, and adult coloring books have been a very welcome addition to our lives. Marrying two great things – coloring and Harry Potter – these HP-themed coloring books are a perfect gift for any kid or kid-at-heart. You can mix and match which ones you purchase – fan of magical creatures? Magical locations? Pick one or all of them and give the gift of creativity this year.

Hogwarts House shot glasses set – $20

Because we all have friends from different houses, and isn’t inter-house unity the ultimate goal? And what better to bring everyone together than a fun set of shot glasses to show off your Hogwarts pride. There are tons of fun Harry Potter-themed shot glasses online, so I would suggest going to check out some other themes on Etsy, but for that HP fan who is full of school pride – these four house-themed shot glasses are a great place to start.

Harry Potter sheet music – $10

“Ah, music,” he said, wiping his eyes. “A magic beyond all we do here!” Take it from Dumbledore (arguably the wisest wizard to ever live) – music is the key to a better and more magical life. For those Harry Potter fans who are more musically inclined, check out this book of sheet music. This particular one is for the piano, but there’s also a strings book you can peruse here, and even a flute one here.

Harry Potter video game – $40-$60

For the friend or family member who is not only a Harry Potter nerd, but a video game nerd as well, these Harry Potter-themed games are a perfect gift. There are multiple versions of the games – from different systems to different books (you can purchase a different game for each), and even a Lego version; these video games will be fun for the whole family.

Harry Potter puzzle – $10

For the more analytical, Ravenclaw-like fan, perhaps a puzzle is the best holiday gift this season. This 550-piece puzzle of the Hogwarts Castle would be a fun snow-day activity, or maybe after the holiday meal is done and the family is sitting around, pull this out for a quiet, relaxing evening. The 18” x 24” completed piece will be one you might want to keep around for decoration!
