According to this Mental Floss article, there are actually two National Doughnut Days. One in June, which was begun by the Salvation Army to honor women who’d volunteered with them during WWI, offering support to the troops in the form of fried, doughy goodness. The other, in November, can be traced back to the 1930s, but its origins are unclear. Honestly, though, do we need a reason to love doughnuts? No. Our love for them is pure and unconditional. Therefore, please enjoy these memes.
