By the time December of each year rolls around I am drowning in a sea of clutter, aren’t we all? Just say yes, so I feel better.
January never fails me, though. Out of the woodwork comes pretty organization pieces and DIY projects to help get me in gear, so I want to pass on my favorites to you!
On Your Person:
I love this new line from Kate Spade. I am a planner nerd. I buy a new one every year. The theme of that planner helps me stay focused all year. 2016 is about being bold for me. Staying on point and slaying. These bold lines and bright dots visually align with my goals for this year. She has several styles available, and the price point is midrange in the planner world.
The planner is a 17-month planner, has monthly and weekly spreads, a contacts section, note pages and laminated dividers. Price: $36
The Spiral is what turns me on. The actual spirals are covered which give the book a lot more stability. Price: $16.99
For Your Kitchen:
The Modular Kitchen System of my dreams. This organization system is not only in style right now; it is completely customizable. From storing your plates to your silverware, this system is perfect for a clean, organized space that also has a unique look to it. Price: $5-30
This Rustic Glass Rack. I have been looking for the perfect rustic glass rack for a long time now. This is technically a drying rack, but I love it for all the time. Glasses, coffee mugs, maybe even stemless wine glasses. Price: $14.99
For Your Electronics:
Family Charging Stations—Yep, that’s a thing now. I love both these DIY options.
This first one features the Fintorp system from Ikea, but guess what else you can use? The modular system featured above from World Market!
Now this option makes my heart skip a beat because it hides the cords. With multiple devices for multiple people, sometimes seeing all the cords sends my anxiety through the roof. This DIY is perfect. You buy a mail sorter in any style that suits your home, drill holes in the back and boom. Cute, stylish and hidden.
For Your Bathroom:
Bathroom storage can be so hard; you are pretty much limited to containers and linen closets. I try to step out of the box in this area. In my house, we store our toilet paper in a vintage galvanized tub. I love it. Vintage is pretty much my go-to style. I like mixing metals with wood. I love repurposing items as well. That is why this DIY from LizMarie hits home with me.
On the subject of repurposing and going a bit large scale, do you have room to bring in a piece of actual furniture? Or change out the current setup you have now? I love these old cabinet projects; you can find them in all shapes at most thrift stores and flea markets. A splash of paint, and you have yourself a custom piece that stands out.

For Your Jewelry:
I spent a lot of time making my jewelry station. I wanted something that was not your typical box set up. So I brought in nontraditional pieces that, when all put together, created a jewelry bar.
I love these two pieces, and I am thinking about adding them to my collection. I have also recently added two gorgeous elephant shaped bracelet and ring holders.
