If you’ve been following me a while, you’ll probably know I adore blossom trees. The sight of blossom petals reach right into my chest, get behind my ribs &charge me with life instantly, like a defibrillator. The buds always start peeking out to the earth just when that are needed the most, just when you are done with the grey, the inertia & the cold of winter & you find yourself quietly, but desperately looking for inspiration, to keep going, to keep believing, to keep trying & creating, delicately holding to the fact that beauty is coming your way, or at least your vision is about to change so you can bear witness to the beauty always around you. This year I have noticed them earlier. I am out & about more with the girls & I think I’m in need of inspiration more than I was this time last year, so I am noticing them with fresh eyes. And something has so struck me this year round. Their beauty at the early budding stage. Their budding when seemingly surrounded by dead, bare branches. The trees in this stage of their blossoming seem so brave. To be so boldly in transition from empty to full in front of the passing world, hiding in nothing, rooted bravely in the stability of life’s cycles. To be so bold in the stages of transition. That is really speaking to me right now. Because I have always fallen head over heels for a blossom tree in full bloom. But I am thinking there is something more profound at this stage now. The bravery it takes to settle yourself into the in between. To not rush your growth or run ahead of yourself, striving for what you cannot hold right now. To be part bloom, part nothing. To show a little bit of who you are in some areas of your life and then be unable to show anything in others – & to not be ashamed of that. To not even care. Because you can feel life slowly thriving through you, seeping into all your corners & edges. Or if you can’t feel it, you trust it wholeheartedly. That’s what I want more of, darlings, because I’m not in full bloom yet. And we are brave because often we don’t know where the hell we are, but still we make our way, trusting. Being in full bloom is the easy part. I applaud you who are on the rocky way there.

Take time to listen to your body. “There is more wisdom in your body than in your deepest philosophy.” – Friedrich Nietzsche . It’s easy to overlook the healing power of mind-body awareness. We talk about feelings “in our guts” and about a “lump in our throat” when upset. Our daily language illustrates the mind-body connection, but how often do we ignore what our bodies are telling us? The next time you notice pain patterns in your body become mindful of what’s going on internally. “If you’re tired, sleep. If unclear, meditate. If sore, move. If angry, forgive. If unhappy, love. If bored, give.” Is your common sense your common practice? . #projecthappiness #wellnesswednesday #selfcare #mindbodysoul
