Trust your want. ⠀ ⠀ To distrust your desires is to distrust yourself (& the hard-earned wisdom that is the legacy of your own living). ⠀ ⠀ Your want is the voice of your heart, a symbol of your stubborn insistence on staying close to what is human & alive in you. ⠀ ⠀ *Important note* Trusting your want does not mean flinging yourself headlong into every siren song that croons your name, or to be destructive and break with your personal integrity. ⠀ ⠀ It isn’t about taking or having at the expense of the rest of your life. It doesn’t mean forgoing wisdom and discernment to claim or experience or possess. ⠀ ⠀ To trust your want is simply to honor it as both whole and holy, even if it never goes beyond that. ⠀ ⠀ It *is* about knowing your want as an instructive voice, here to teach you. To shine light into the dusty & forgotten shadows at the corners of your comfort zone. To return to what eternally calls you. To remember, finally, the sound of your own name. ⠀ ⠀ What is it that you want, love?⠀ ⠀ Try naming it, even in the quiet of your own mind. Practice rolling it around on your tongue.⠀ Feel how it tastes in your mouth. ⠀ Whisper it, just loud enough to hear the sound & cadence of your desire released into the world. ⠀ See how it feels, to dance at the edges of what is known & to peer into the mystery that lies beyond. ⠀ ⠀ Trace its origin, the point at which it was born. ⠀ Make peace with the reason it is here. ⠀ Ask it what it has to offer & teach. ⠀ ⠀ Sit with it, selfishly, keep it just for you. ⠀ Share it with someone who can be trusted to hold it in reverence. ⠀ ⠀ Then choose (and that’s the powerful part, that we get to choose) if this is a want that calls to be met in the here & now, or simply just known, trusted & understood. ⠀ ⠀ And if it is meant to be chosen. ⠀ If it is ready to be claimed. ⠀ If everything in you pulses with the yes of your own knowing. ⠀ ⠀ Step into this wide-open world and release it to the heavens. ⠀ Watch it spiral up & out & all around, buoyed by the power of your faith (in it, yourself, & the world). ⠀ Take whatever action you are called to take in its creation and manifestation. ⠀ ⠀ Then rest, & wait for the magic to come

I love this quote, and it’s been one of those weeks where I’ve had to remind myself of this A LOT 🙂 Sometimes we get bombarded with a cluster of similar situations, just one after the other When this happens I know the universe is trying to teach me something and I pay attention. I think what’s said in this quote is such an important understanding to have. It helps me not take things to heart as much, and brings me a sense of peace, clarity and compassion, where bitterness and resentments may have festered before. Well, I really do my best 🙂 Leila⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #awakening#evolve#grow#spiritualjourney#spiritualgrowth#spiritualawakening#understanding#innerjourney#clarity#mattkahn#lifelessons#warriorspirit#loveliveshere#chronicillness#rebelthriver#wordsofwisdom#compassion#wordstoliveby#rebelthrivertribe#empath#soulwork#healing#lightworker#chronicpain#mindfulness#survivors#domesticviolence#ptsd#ellahicks
