Dad gives stunning impromptu performance of “Ave Maria” in Disney World lobby
Voice and piano instructor Justin Gigliello was on vacation with his family at Disney World recently and as he and his daughter walked through the lobby of the Grand Floridian resort, his daughter asked the pianist if he’d play while her father sang. Passersby were treated to a beautiful performance of “Ave Maria,” but the best part is the adoring look on his little girl’s face.
High school students get up in the early morning to shovel driveway for neighbor who must travel by ambulance to dialysis
Brian and Patrick Lanigan, students at Parsippany High School in New Jersey, knew that their neighbor, an older woman, relies on ambulance transport to get to her dialysis treatments. And when a snowstorm was due to strike the next day, the boys realized the ambulance would have difficulty with the snow-covered driveway. They wanted to help (Brian, who works as an EMT, had shoveled the driveway the week before) but now 8 more inches of snow were coming. The ambulance was due at 6 a.m., and since Brian had to work early, Patrick got to work contacting friends. The next morning, four of Patrick’s friends showed up at 4:30 a.m. with shovels. They cleared the driveway in half an hour, and Patrick’s dad snapped a picture, posting it to Twitter. He commended the boys for their compassion:

Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley to open free grocery Nashville
The Paisley family says they got the idea to open their store (which will be called The Store) after volunteering at Unity Shoppe in Santa Barbara, California. “Hunger and food insecurity is a real issue in Nashville,” said Williams-Paisley. “One in seven people deal with food insecurity. That means they don’t know where their next meal is coming from. And it’s even worse for kids, one in five children.” The Store will function as an actual grocery store, where customers can shop the aisles for what they need and volunteers will scan their goods at checkout. The only difference will be that there is no charge for the food. Construction on the facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2019. Donations can be made here.
