September 29 is officially National Coffee Day here in the U.S. Frankly, every day is coffee day for us, but on this day, businesses will actually give you free stuff. Check it out:

Dunkin Donuts is offering a free small hot or iced coffee at participating restaurants. In addition to that, their packaged coffee will be available at a discount – $5.99 for a 16 oz. package of ground roast and $7.99 for a 14 count K-Cup pack. More details here.

McDonald’s is giving out free small McCafe coffees at participating locations.

Krispy Kreme offers a free 12 oz. coffee or a $1 mocha latte or iced coffee at participating locations.

Peet’s Coffee is offering buy one get one free deal. Get a free coffee or espresso when you purchase one at participating locations.

Tim Horton’s, according to their Facebook page is giving away golden envelopes, all Charlie & The Chocolate Factory style: As part of National Coffee Day celebrations on September 29, Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop will be giving out more than $9,000 in cash and gift cards. Special gold envelopes filled with either a $25 Tim Cards or cash will be hidden across local hotspots in Columbus, Ohio; Buffalo and Rochester, New York; Detroit and Grand Rapids, Michigan.”

Starbuck’s is selling their Ethiopian roast at the special rate of $13.95 per 1 lb. bag through their online store, and is also offering free in-store tastings.

This last one isn’t a freebie you get, but it’s one you can give. Cup Of Joe For A Joe allows you to buy a cup of coffee and send a letter of thanks to a soldier serving overseas for as little as $2. The feeling you get is priceless, though.
