Amplifying Yourself

For the longest time, I was a fan of the “Life isn’t about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself” inspirational quote. Then I hit my mid-20s and realized what a load of crap that was. We spend so much of our lives creating who we think we’re supposed to be when we already have all the parts. We just have to bring them together and amplify ourselves.

I’m a firm believer in owning yourself, and your qualities instead of trying to fit the mold.  The only way to be heard through all the noise out in the world (especially on the internet) is to amplify what makes you unique.

I’ve never really quite fit in and I spent most of my life trying to belong somewhere. I longed to find something in common with other people and stop being the odd man out. For a long time after I graduated high school, I tried to fly under the radar. I let my insecurities get the best of me and got in my own way when it came to finally getting my life started.

Amplify Yourself

Here at Amplifying Yourself, I’m going to be sharing my own experiences and stories, as well as ways you can break out of the mold. I recently taped a Vlog, talking about how I feel about stereotypes and if I find any of them to be useful or true. If you’d like to watch it, you can find it here.

Feel free to leave comments on this post if there are particular topics you would like to see discussed here.

See you next time.

  1. You echo a lot of what I had felt in my early twenties, the insecurities and the disillusionment and not being able to create myself, or this idea that I had to create this persona, and inability to do so hindering my ability to live a life. Thank you for the read, I truly enjoyed this post.
