Our friends at Apoterra came through for our Get Out & Go! Tote again. This time with a soothing facial steam and charcoal mud mask.
If you missed Apoterra’s profile in last months #TreatYoSelfTote you can see it HERE. Apoterra is an apothecary located in New York that was founded by Dominique Caron. Their product line specializes in targeting adult skincare issues using high quality plant and mineral ingredients.
We’ll start with the Herbal Detoxifying Steam ($28) because that was step one for me. It is made with a blend of Calendula, Rose Petals, Tulsi, Peppermint, and Lemon Verbena, amongst other herbs. Each ingredient bringing anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties as well as creating a pleasant environment for your senses.
Once I added the herbs to the warm water it reminded me of freshly brewed chamomile tea, gentle and relaxing. I wrapped a towel around myself and the bowl to keep the steam in and just enjoyed the silence.
After about 15 minutes I brought the towel down and proceeded on to phase two of “at-home-spa” time. I mixed the Activated Purifying Mask ($28) as the directions said but ended up adding just a little more water to make the consistency a little easier to spread. It seemed like the best time since my pores were already open from the steam.
Now, the last time I tried a mask from a different company I had an allergic reaction. My skin being too sensitive to handle the ingredients. BUT this time I comfortably waited the 15 minutes of time and rinsed off this mask to glowing, supple skin! Viola!
(I felt so glowy!!)
Now they’ve got me swooning over their New Sea Mist Texturizing Spray ($24) for the perfect beach waves.
And their Herbal Balancing Night Serum ($38) has made it onto my next wish list.
