I know, I know, Tie lab? Yes! A tie lab who makes pretty amazing ties AND scarves, all while working on building up their hometown of Detroit, MI. Our final spotlight is for our Coffee Bean Print Pashmina Scarf.

Cyberoptix has been around since 2006 hand-making and designing every item in-house. The Cyberoptix team hand-screens every creation using water-based inks. What does that mean for you? It means your design won’t crack and disinegrate like on other printed materials. The designs are sourced from historical documents and vintage designs that are then rendered back at the “tie-lab” to print unique but still formal designs. You can choose from literally thousands of color combinations to print on. And you can even choose what kind of fabric you use; whether you want microfiber (which is washable) or Silk, or, if you want an animal friendly piece, they have Pashmina Silk which is plant-based fiber.

“…you can build a necktie, bow tie, pocket square or scarf in the perfect color and design combination that is unique to your style, the event you’re planning, or organization you belong to. You can choose from over 100 fabric colors, over 100 printing ink colors, six tie sizes, countless fabric choices, and over 400 graphics. The really crazy part? We’ll have it out the door to you in just a couple of days. No waiting. Your time is worth more than that.”

In an effort to give back to their community, Cryberoptix partnered with Grow Detroit’s Young Talent to offer kids a chance at some hands-on training. “Grow Detroit’s Young Talent is a six week summer youth employment program that combines work readiness training with on-the-job experience designed to prepare Detroiters, ages 14 to 24, for Detroit’s workforce. Eligible young people are recruited through local schools, community organizations, and the city’s workforce development system. Youth are matched to employers based on interest, ability, and accessibility.” They are working to not only build a better community, but to connect with the youth and young adults that will someday be working with them.

This scarf is Sage ink on Golden Olive Pashmina fabric. It is soft and light, perfect for fall weather. The design is pieces of coffee bean plant prints simply layed out to bring just a touch of character to a timeless piece.

With the holidays just weeks away I’ve got my eye on their College Ruled Pashmina Scarf ($49)

And this Beer, Hops & Wheat Necktie ($36) as presents.

OK and maybe this ridiculously cute Baseball Bowtie ($40)
