It was recently announced that Disney would be pulling its films from Netflix in favor of starting it’s own streaming service. Before they pull them, I recommend watching these newer Disney releases that you may not have gotten around to watching yet.

Moana

The story of a Polynesian girl’s adventure to find demi-god Maui and make him undo his mistake to save her island. Though Moana is technically a princess, this is not your typical Disney princess film.

Zootopia

Zootopia’s first rabbit police officer teams up with a sly fox to solve the mysterious disappearance of an otter. On the surface, it’s a fun movie of andromorphic animals but it’s actually a parable about tolerance and inclusiveness.

Finding Dory

Sequel to the successful Finding Nemo; forgetful Dory seeks to reunite with her family with the help of her friends.

The Jungle Book

A live action version of the classic with stunning CGI and the same great songs. Bill Murray was born to play Baloo!

Rogue One

Set between Episodes III and IV this touching addition to the saga tells us the story of how the Rebel Alliance got the Death Start Plans. Have tissues on hand.

Alice Through the Looking Glass

After years away Alice returns to Wonderland save the Mad Hatter.

Big Friendly Giant

A childhood favorite from Roald Dahl comes to life when an orphan and a giant form an unlikely friendship.

Captain America Civil War

Captain America VS Iron Man. One thinks the Avengers should maintain their independence, the other wants government oversight.

Doctor Strange

After an accident causes neurosurgeon Stephen Strange the loss of his hands he seeks help from The Ancient One, a mystical sorcerer.

Pete’s Dragon

Follow the adventure of an orphan boy who has been lost in the woods for years named Pete and his pet dragon, Elliot.

The Finest Hours

In 1952 a horrible storm ripped an oil tanker in half off the coast of New England, four heroic Coast Guard members set out to rescue the stranded sailors.

Queen of Katwe

The true story of Phiona Mutesi, a young Ugandan girl who learns to play chess and becomes a chess champion.

Girl Meets World

Fans of the original Boy Meets World won’t want to miss this series following the lives of Cory and Topanga’s tween daughter Riley and her friends.

And these two Disney favorites will be leaving Netflix on September 5: Lilo & Stitch and Emperor’s New Groove, so don’t miss your chance to watch them before they’re gone.
