Music is powerful. It has the power to make us laugh, cry, dance, and drive faster. It also has the power to make us think, ask questions, and challenge authority. Music can take you back to an easier time in your life, or help you through the challenges you are facing right now. Music can be “of the moment” or “timeless,” but no matter what kind of music you enjoy, music can be thought provoking and inspiring.

Musicians are artists who have the unique ability to change people’s minds and challenge their beliefs through the messages they share in their music. Protest songs are not something new, but they are important for the simple fact that their messages inflame, inspire, and lead to revolution.
